This course identifies the goals and practices for pre-, inter-, and post-event massage. Students are instructed in focus areas, timing, and combinations of basic massage strokes to support preparation for and recovery from physical exertion, and how best to support the body’s natural healing process after an injury. Students are introduced to the physiologic effects of hydrotherapy as well as the integration of hydrotherapy with massage. Students will learn the appropriate application of stretch therapies for both athletic and general therapeutic settings.
